In loving memory of our precious daughter, Staci who is loved and missed so much

Staci Stephens was a bright and beautiful 10th Grade Timber Creek High School Student in Orlando, Florida. On March 13, 2005, Staci passed away suddenly and quickly of Viral Myocarditis. However, in the midst of Staci's death, God has revealed to people all over the world Staci's story.

Staci was actively involved in Student Venture (Campus Crusade for Christ High School Ministry) and various other bible studies, a Christian leader, a JV Cheerleader, ran track, played the clarinet and saxophone, was a second degree black belt in Karate, tutored kids, and was in the honor program at school. Staci's most attractive quality definitely was and still is that God's love shines through her.

In every aspect of her life she was focused on His glory and her heart was that of a true servant. Her true joy came from working for the Lord and serving Him and that is and always will be a total encouragement to everyone. Not to mention how astonishing it is to see how God is using her still and giving her a unique ministry all her own, just like she asked. It's a true inspiration and a challenge to all of us to search our hearts and truly desire God's glory to be supreme over all. She came to us from Heaven and helped us to grow closer to our Father than we could have ever imagined. God has really blessed us with her presence in our life in every way, shape, and form.

Staci woke up every morning at 5:30 AM and spent alone time with God. In doing this, she left behind four journals of her faith. Some of the inspiring things she taught us included asking God for a 'one-of-a-kind ministry' not a copy of anyone else's. Staci developed a big heart for God and a big heart for people.

Staci asked God to give her a one of a kind ministry, not a copy of anyone else’s. I think you will agree by Staci’s story that she does have a unique ministry.

She said, 'Everything I do is for the glory of God and I finally know the life that I've been missing.' Staci also shared, 'I knew that he loved me and that he was there, but I didn't know that it was to this extent that it could really impact your life. I think the most important thing I've learned was how to really live my life and what I'm living for. A lot of kids know that they are not living the right way and if they will say something about it, you know they have A Heart to Change.'

Staci's story is depicted in a short DVD titled, 'A Heart to Change, The Staci Stephens Story.' The DVD has been shared with over 7000 youth pastors and High Schools everywhere in Orlando. This DVD was produced by Venture Media (Campus Crusade for Christ) and can be seen on both of her web sites. Recently, the DVD won a Silver Telly Award. Her family has started 'The Staci Stephens Fund, Inc.' and is a 501(c)3 Non Profit Organization.

The organization's mission is to help people attend camps, conferences, workshops or other related functions to further their faith, to assist with medical research of Viral Myocarditis and other heart related problems, and help others afflicted with heart related issues.

Staci documented her testimony of how Jesus had changed her life. The final paragraph of Staci’s testimony is very powerful and takes on new meaning today. When she wrote, she was using it in a different concept as we view it today. I hope you find it as touching as we did:

Through all of the sorrow and trouble, I grew in my walk with Christ tremendously. God puts people in our life for reasons that we can’t even imagine; and yet he can take them out in a heartbeat to see our dedication to Him. But in the end, it is always for an awesome reason that we can’t see. One thing that I really learned from this experience was being able to surrender everything to God. He gave His life for us, so we should be able to give everything back to Him. It’s something that is a lot easier said than done. It just really goes to show that God’s ways are truly mysterious. ---Staci
